Entering society and online competitions deliver valuable feedback on my images. Sometimes you can be working on an image and become blind to the fact it was always a none starter. On the other hand an image you are not sure about might prove an absolute HIT! eIther way I recommend you seek unbiased critique on your images as conformation one way or the other. It’s also nice to win the occasional prize!!
I use mainly use ePHOTOzine, and to a lesser extent Photocrowd to test out my images.
I only enter one image per Photocrowd competition.
In fear of contradiction I have to say there are some of my images which receive little positive reaction, but this doesn’t stop me exploring their potential as a statement of my individual style.
