A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE BOOK
Photography has always played an important part in my life, from a 12-frame Kodak 120 film in a Box Brownie back in the 1960s to the success and rewards I enjoy today with my faithful Nikon. Staffordshire has been and continues to inspire my journey.
I’ve searched for the very best landscapes and places of interest both in Staffordshire and beyond.
Almost all the photographic locations chosen for this book are the result of multiple visits made at different times of day and through all seasons. Seeing the ever-changing light does tend to make my aspirations that little more challenging. Every effort has been made not to include any photographs of National Trust land and properties.
My apologies if your town, village or backyard has not been included in this book. My choice is subjective and based on the places I’ve enjoyed most and the best results I’ve achieved. I appreciate that there is still so much for me to explore.

Subject: Your book - Staffordshire in Photographs
Message: Bought you book yesterday from Denstone Hall Farm Shop. - most impressed!
My wife hales from Cheadle, Staffs - I from a little further north.
I know the area well that you have pictured and have, since being able to use up some of my father's war time film during thr late 40s and 50s. going on to take a great interest in photography during my apprenticeship with English Electric in Stafford - continuing to work there for many years until the major change of ownership prompted me to leave both the Company and the area. Up until then, my new wife (married 1963) lived just up Pirehill road on Marlborough Road quite near to your location. Moving away to work for the UK branch of an Italian Company after they separated from Fairchild in the USA, I had to re-locate nearer to their branch office and labs in Aylesbury. Brackley is as far as I wanted to move which is where we still live after many years.
Photography has always remained a significant interest - although I no longer use my Nikon F but have moved to Panasonic G series and TZ cameras.
In order to achieve the results that are reproduced in your book must have taken aa considerable amount of time and planning. I much admire the results!!
With best regards,
Charles
