Three Counties Open Art 2021
Looks like I'm in this years virtual THREE COUNTIES OPEN ART 2021 exhibition, thanks to my line & watercolour wash painting called ‘Canal Cruising Co’. It’s a COVID virtual exhibition again this year.

During the 1990s I was a prolific watercolour painter, selling an array of Staffordshire scenes.
My first acceptance into 3 Counties Open Art was back in 1987 (watercolour) with several since.
Lately known more for my creative & landscape photography, but my parallel passion always remains in sketching and painting.
More recently I have drifted away from traditional techniques and gone for a more contemporary, impressionistic approach, which stops me from getting caught up in lots of detail, allowing me to be a bit more free.
Canal Cruising Co is located along the Trent & Mersey Canal, on my regular dog walk in and around Stone.
Photographed by myself in all lighting conditions, seasons and weathers, it inspired me to paint.
